i really couldnt give you any usefull advice. it is hard enough to maintain my current level of advancment, any advancemt from here seems unlikely at the moment. being a nihilist all this is pointless anyway. just wing it. your not done learning yet. from my point of view nothing has really changed. what will happen will happen. join my cult :D

I did part-time job when I was still doing my last year in school, now I'm still employed in the same company but full-time. I hate the job sometime but usually the people I work with makes up for it. The again, I'm semi-actively looking for a new job.

Empleyers mostly value experience over shcool background. Which is why I don't see myself going to school ever again if I can help it. :)

Leaving college/school is like staring into the abyss.  It's a big shock to the system when you suddenly realise that you have to support yourself, and maybe another person too...

But on the up-side, getting your first pay cheque as a bona-fide full-time employee is pretty damn fine...

IF you have the spare time and money, then I would definitely chill out for a while and travel around.  It's far better to do when you are young...

Duxford is pretty cool btw, so put it high on your list.

BTW:  I have a load of these type pics:

RAF only right now, but collecting more, I can send you a zip if you like...

I actually left J.C. with hopeless grades and still got a job for around ~2 months before having to leave for NS. It was sound experience of what office/work life would be like, and my Secondary/high school were horrible enough that suicide was a valid option to get out of them. Finally, I got out, found a full-time job, had a blast for two months while earning money for simply taking down catalog orders from you brits ;)

Gave me a lot of experience, and working in NS has given me quite a bit too, as well as contacts to get other reasonable jobs with which to tide me by ;7

My servie finishes in 7 months though, so I'll be in a similar position, except for the fact that I may see a future; depending on if I can improve my Halo2 performance enough to qualify at WCG or not :/

And I'm at pretty much the same position.... I've got a good - a bloody good - degree, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do what I'd want to do, because it's not necessarily the right degree for that.  So I'm considering just going back to uni for an MSc or maybe even a PhD, in the hope I can figure out what to do with the next 40 years or so.

I'd recommend taking a gap year or something if you can afford it; it'll probably be the only chance you have.

MSc Networking Security - GCU. Good course.

Nah, i'm staying clear of the polytechnics.

:p

(actually, I might do advanced CS at Glasgow - if I get a sponsorship - or Forensic Infomatics at Strathclyde - which is sponsored and I've been 99% guaranteed a fee waiver, but I'm staying away from networking stuff; I spent 8 months working on a network topology technology and it mostly bored the tears off me, it's not my best area)

Pgd == Post Graduate Diploma, you silly monkey.

As in what you get if you take an MSc course but don't do the dissertation.
