(Don't misunderstand me for not liking these places or the peopel who live in them.. they're simply separate from England as far as I'm concerned).

Also, this is a technological lemon. There are no clear goals defined in the project brief, there is no contingency for the huge number of people who are either incompatible with, or unable to use, the biometric hardware, and the cost has exploded.

It's no more secure than any other form of ID. It can and will be faked. Making the cards takes literally a few minutes.

Eh, the UK needs a little revolution to get the shitheads out of power. Same with the US. Seriously, if it were my country, I would be angry as hell and more than a bit scared.

We are, all of the above, but there hasn't been a civil war in the UK for a VERY long time. We've always come through the darkest moments in modern history via the democratic process, and people are afraid that once we cross the line that takes us into a revolution, it will be very hard to hold on to the democracy we're trying to save.
