they do not go in a folder they will be in "my documents"

AHA. there's your problem. you have to set it to where the folder shows Freespace2\data\missions.

@Night Wolf - ok, not sure if I undstand that. the .fs2 is located in my documents? if it is, move it to the freespace2 directory in the data folder there is a folder named missions. It should look somthing like this c/games/freespace2/data/missions. Thats where it needs to be

Did they ever fix that thing where it saved into My Documents by default? Quite retarded, imo.
