My god, do you know how ridiculous a planet blowing up in 2.1 seconds really sounds? The Earth is over 6,000 km in radius. That means that the materiel at the center of the Earth would have to be moving at least 3,000 km/s. (probably multiple times that) That also means that the entire mass of the Earth would have to have acceleration of something like several thousand kilometers per seconds. Or several hundred THOUSAND gravities. Not to mention that if even a tiny portion of the Earth's mass is converted to energy, the resulting glow would outshine the sun. So basically, a destroyed planet should be Majestic, perhaps a glow along the edges of continental plates as it ever so slowly comes apart into massive glowing chunks of molten rock. Really, it should take hours or days to be fully disagregated.....
