Australia is a very multi-cultural society. We strongly believe in human-equality and are far from racist (compared to most other nations that we receive reports from). Despite that, Aborigines get so many exceptions and sympothy, like state-housing,
discounts on a wide variety of things. Why can't we all be treated equally? The majority of aborigines that are needing assistance bring it upon themselves from constantly binge drinking, doing drugs and other criminal behavior.
There are many more 'needy' people in Australia that could use the assistance that the Aborigine people of Australia receive from the governement. And this whole idea of reconsiliation is just stupid! The aboriginal council (or whatever) are demanding an apology from today's government for actions taken at the turn of last century. 'We' didn't do it, so why should today's goverment apologise? Of course, we offer our condolences for the bad things that happened during that period, but we 'today' are not to blame. I want us all to get along and all to be treated equally like the rest of the other cultures in Australia (like, asians, europeans and africans are treated equally in Australia). Do you agree Setekh?
