What I am wondering is if you have two primaries on a fighter and you link them to fire together, are you increasing your firepower, OR, are both your weapons speeds being reduced by 50% so it's the same dmg anyway, if it's the same dmg anyway, whats the point in having two weapons of the same type on your ship.
Don't know the actual figures, but the point would be to (for example) have 2 specialised weapons at once; like a shieldbreaker and armour-damager. Although there'd be an energy penalty, of course, but it'd mean you'd be able to (again, for example) fire maxim type weapons
only at a capship, and combine the 2 to pound a shielded vessel (yeah, you could switch shield->armour weapons, but sometimes it's a pain). Except at the very least you'd have the energy use of both occuring, so it's still a tactical decision.
Plus if you have a spoiler you wanna type up whats the command to do it so it doesn't appear as normal txt.
Spoilers go in 'spoiler' tags like <spoiler> but with '[' type brackets;
