There's a myth that you can put a keyboard in the dishwasher to clean it. Unfortunately that's likely to damage the rubber keysprings used in most keyboards because dishwashers use very hot water. Model M keyboards have been known to survive it though, as should any other keyboard that uses metal mechanisms. Whether or not it'll do it any good is a different matter.

Seriously though, a wet cloth won't cause any trouble at all, you can run a keyboard under the tap as long as you make sure it's properly dry before you plug it back in. Water doesn't hurt electronics unless there's power going though it, you could theoretically, submerge your Motherboard, and it would still work afterwards, though I cannot stress enough that I don't suggest anyone try it

but i completely dissassembled the keyboard and dunked the plastic that was coke infested in the bathtub and let zhe water pour.


i'd never test the dishwasher stuff too, simply cause of the fact that the innards would be fuxxored thanks to the fact that that keyboard also serves as a USB hub.

its still a bit wet, some keys had lil pockets of water on them. no matter, hairdryer to the rescue

as for the office laptop and sneezing, thats how i got the abominable liquid on the keyboard the first time. by laughing too loud whilst playing quiz on spinchat, with the glass dropping from my hand bouncing of the table and directly to the keyboard

This used to happen to me fairly often years ago, although it always seemed to be the spacebar that got screwed up. IIRC just washing it out and letting it dry for a few days worked on one of them but not the others.

These days I'm just more careful with where I put my drinks; they go at the corner of my desk, where they won't cause any damage even if they spill but are still at arm's length.

okay, i reassembled it and tried to dry it, but i decided to let it get a bit more dryer overnight.

eeet eeeez repaired and works perfectly i assembled everything correctly and there are no missing nor extra parts all the keys work properly, and whee, i now have two keyboards hooked up to my pc, one to the ps2 port, one to the usb
