Even for an M$ product XP is pretty good, the trick is not to pay a cent for it, that way you can see the good in it much more clearly.

alright I took kazans advise and deleted Win386.swp, I restarted and now it all works!
Things were a little laggy but not that much

no, just one question:
I have a ridiculous pb: once, I started my computer as usual, and I thought out that windows had created a new HD drive, of... 1.91mb!!!
how can I get rid of that ridiculous thing?

Are you using disk compression? If so, that's why- the other hard drive only exists to control the disk compression, not sure about the exact details, but it does.

Well if your using 2k/XP, open Disk Management (just open computer managment and look there). You can see all drives and partitions. You can also delete and create partittions,among other things.
Try to remove the small partition and then extened (if possible) an existing one.
Note: see help-file for info on Basic disks & volumes and dynamic disks & volumes. Somewhat over the top perhaps  

If not, Fdisk or Partition Magic is the way to go.
