Because he's extremely ill. He hasn't eaten for about 4 days, he has practically no teeth left and spends 23 and a half hours a day sleeping at the top of the stairs because he hasn't got the strength left to go anywhere else, he goes to the vet on Monday for a last ditch attempt to help him, but I personally doubt the outcome will be good.

Basically, there comes a stage with pets where you have to decide whether you are keeping them alive for them or for yourself. It's a horrible decision, and I'm really not looking forward to taking it.

  • It's 5 minutes to midnight.
My cute little stupid box-of-rocks brain-dead puppy, Odette, eats Eukanuba every day; she hasn't had a problem yet.

You named a cat with the name of an Earth Alliance cruiser?!?

...

Well I did the contrary. I named a Hecate and its Admiral using names coming straight from...my dogs.

I don't do too bad on animals though, the moggy I've got at the moment is 19, though, in all honesty, I severely doubt he's going to get to 20.

How can you say that?
Mobius; she was named by GEB. She was a GEB dog, though didn't have the personality to be a guide. She was part of the O litter; the 15th litter in the year. We trained her to be obedient, silent, cautious, and friendly. She achieved all aspects required, though was not work-oriented. We kept her after she failed the exam. Oh, and she's a puppy, not a kitty.

To those with older dogs: I know how it feels. We had a beautiful dog named Astin, she passed away in October 2004, from age and from cancer. She held on with life until my oldest sister, Alexa, would let her go in peace.

If you want, you can see how serene she was toward her death. The image is attached.

NGTM-1R: Currently considering spending the rest of the day in bed cuddling.
GTSVA: With who...?
Nuke: chewbacca?
Bob-san: The Rancor.

@ Flipside:
I'm sorry to hear that.  It's hollow comfort, I'm sure, but 19 is a good long life for a cat.  If you hadn't been there to take care of him, he never would have lasted that long.  When they get to this point in their lives, I honestly think love is about the only thing keeping them going.  Their poor bodies are just shot.

Wow.  We must have the similar breeds, or so, because that looks exactly like my dog.  Mine's only about 4 right now, so I'm mostly just worried she'll pass away when I'm not there (i.e. out in the Real World).  Same goes with my three cats.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

Thanks Perihelion, yeah, it's been a pretty rough ride, he got very ill, and we took him to the vets, he seemed to be getting better for a while, but now it's like he's given up, which to be honest, I think he has.
