After getting back into FS2 after a four year hiatus, I was pleasantly surprised to see the SCP still going strong. I installed all the dozens of tedious little files (mmm, tedious file nostalgia), and much to my surprise, I eventually got the game up and running. I ran through the first Fs2 Main Campaign mission and...well, words fail me. In fact, as you'll shortly see, they still fail me. Nonetheless, I absolutely had to create a new forum account in order to gibber obnoxiously at you in regards to a great load of incredibly obvious things.
The graphics blew me away. The visuals alone have advanced to the point at which the graphics greatly exceed that of many modern games. I seriously felt like I was in space! I can see that a great deal of effort has been put forth (understatement of the century, I'm sure) in improving the stars, nebulaes, planets, and other assorted background stuffs. Lightspeed's nebulaes in particular are absolutely beautiful, they look like Hubble shots.

Better still, and unlike my previous experiences with the SCP, I also experienced absolutely no crashes, and no freakishly hideous, computer-shattering bugs. And...the infamous memory leak seems to have been quashed at some point! Yay!
Simply amazing...and by the looks of things, it'll keep getting better.
Some other mindless observations: I don't see Kazan's "Ferrium" anywhere (I guess, really, that was to be expected...it was a cool idea, though) and Blackwater Ops is still in an epic race to beat DNF to the gold.
Uh. In short, you peeps are awesomenificant. SCP = dictator for life. And stuff.
I
think what I'm trying to say is "hi."
