I've installed FSO and am currently playing derelict, but none of the missions so far have had the background nebulas. Is this a bug (the big blue planet shows up, but the rest of sky is just empty space & stars)?

  • The GTA expects that every man will do his duty.
If a man consults whether he is to fight, when he has the power in his own hands, it is certain that his opinion is against fighting.

isnt that in the Advanced Effects portion of the current Mediavp?
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky!

No, only his upgraded nebulae.  They'll be in the next version.

Ah, that did it. Thanks!

Right then. Carry on.

LS's Nebulae and LS's upgraded Nebulae?  Huh?

LS produced upgraded versions of the stock Volition nebulae.  These are in the current media VPs.  He also made several sets of completely original nebulae.  It is these original nebulae that Blaise used in Derelict SCP and at present require their own discrete VP.

Hm, now I'm stuck in Derelict. I'm on the mission where you have to guard the Event Horizon base. Everything goes fine: scan and destroy the AWACS, protect the argo transport and the Cypher, but I never get permission to depart. I let it run for nearly an hour on 32x time acceleration after the Auriga showed up, but I never got permission to depart (my wingmen even killed it!).

Actually, I solved it. The mission doesn't end until the Event Horizon drops to around 33% health, but the Auriga would only fire once, taking it down to 36%.  I had to shoot it up a bit myself.  :)

Er, I've run into another problem. After playing Derelict I decided to do some regular FS2 (still SCP, not retail) and pressed the no mod button, but that turned off all of the SCP features I had enabled in the launcher. I can't seem to figure out how to get them back. If I run Derelict or some other mod (I also played a bit of FSPort) the SCP features turn on, but I can't get them to work on regular FS2.

Edit - and my great-looking new ships seem to have disappeared from Fred2 Open as well.

This is why I'm somewhat annoyed that mod.ini files no longer parse from the main folder (like they used to in earlier versions of the launcher)

Shivan's Pack for instance had a mod ini that appeared when you ran with no mods and told you exactly what you had to do to get the SCP enhancements back.
