While dapper drake and edgy eft were great releases of ubuntu...feisty fawn tended to suck major balls (that's when i should have switched back to edgy eft after installing feisty fawn.). But, i verily impatiently waited for gutsy gibbon. Several programs i found in the feisty repositories weren't very stable, feisty fawn i consider they're worst release ever since warty warthog (warty warthog was too hard to use...configuring fstab was a nightmare and i still consider it unnecessary for any linux distro..that **** should always be automatic for detecting your hard drives). OH GOD (orgasm), it's so much better than feisty fawn. OH BABY (i came).
One damn nice operating system. Although i didn't quite learn the benefits of having a file manager that isn't your web browser at the same time until i tried out gnome for a month. Then kde comes up with dolphin for kde4 (i'm gonna **** the cd i burn when that comes out...gosh that's gonna hurt), but dolphin was also released for kde 3.5.x. Dolphin for kde 3.5.x later became unsupported, but ubuntu now supports it as the default file manager for kubuntu (my fav ubuntu distro). I mean konqueror as a file manager is ok, but it really blows. Konqueror as a last resort file manager is however, great, i love konqueror, i stopped using firefox because of it (konqueror is a great web browser...you can do so much more with it than firefox...i like how kubuntu never has firefox and only has konqueror). Anyways, dolphin is a great file manager. I'm glad that the brainstorming for kde4 included a new and separate from konqueror file manager, while at the same time in konqueror you can still use it as a file manager.
After that there's the restricted driver manager for ubuntu. Hmmm yes, install nvidia-glx-new or ati-fglrx, or even the denied w32codecs, LAME, and especially the evil libdvdcss2 (if you have libdvdcss2 installed you can rip dvd isos without having to force copy...as if force copy hasn't worked every time...the days that i long for k3b to be ported to windows...you know you all want k3b for windows, then you could all stop using the nero demo with a crack to get rid of the 30 day trial).
If you like dual booting with debian based distros, try this thing a spin. I've been waiting impatiently since may for gutsy to come out. If you single boot debian based distros, get this *****. If you don't know what debian is, then hurry up and switch from your godforsaken rpm based distro. DAMN rpm's are a piece of ****!
