But concidering that this is a DVD meant for installing FSO, wouldn't it be sort of correct to assume that people already have FS2 and they already have it working?

Hip's idea appears to be that you download this and add in the GoG download before burning it. The idea being that if you need to reinstall FS2 you now have a DVD with everything on it.

Regarding the installer image, I vote that regardless of which ship you pick, you should have it facing toward the user.

Also, when is this DVD planned to be released?

Maybe if someone could make it possible to move that pesky little light source around a bit in the tech room...

Or is fixed position is a must, left shoulder direction would make more sense imho than the current "far upper right corner" position. But being able to move the light direction around would be awesome.

Being able to specify a background or alpha channel to the ship lab screenshots would be awesome too though.

- as quickly as possible AFTER 3.6.10 is declared final.

BTW - I've already compiled a beta SCP installer and a Campaigns Pack Installer and I have discovered that there is no way to get it all to fit on one single layer DVD (DVD5). So either eveyone would have to burn to a dual layer DVD (DVD9) or make two DVDs. DVD 1 would included your GOG.com FS2 installer and the SCP Upgrade Installer. DVD 2 would hold the Campaign Pack.

Thoughts?

Okay, good. Because 3.6.10 will include a new Launcher and a new version of Turey's Installer.
