I've got to say. That little sylvania smartbook had plenty of potential if any of that potential paid off. I got linux to boot from an sd card. And, all i found out was that linux ported to the damn wm8650 wasn't very well refined at all. As in, shutdown properly and your install just broke. Also, what really sucked was that the android kernel had to be used in linux since a vanilla kernel i guess was problematic in making everything just work. The android kernel is alright, it's one of the last of the 2.6 series before linus changed versioning to 3.0. But, it also isn't. Android kernel only allows you to run as root. That and having to redo the install every boot up. The linux ports were just not very polished. The arch linux version was, but has been since long retired by the guy who made it for ****s and giggles.

**** this thing. And windows 7 compact edition is actually just windows ce 6.0. Reading the manual was funny saying how surfing the web will look different than on a normal computer (well of course, people haven't really used internet explorer 7 for a long while).
"keep it simple stupid", or "KISS" doesn't apply to me with the way they mean it; it's much easier to build a linux distro package by package in debian and many other distros than it is in arch. A few years ago i discovered that the arch linux meaning of "KISS" means getting down and dirty with all of the nitty gritty. I didn't care for getting to know or become that intimate with the OS to find out how to stroke it properly and which hole my dick should go in before i **** the **** out of it for sweet sweet pleasure with my perfectly specialized high maintenance date.
Enough of arch linux. I gave the damn thing to my friend who actually finds android handy and he loves the hell out of it. He works at subway, so i'll be getting free sandwiches for a while. It was fun a little bit with that device, but as opposed to wasting my time; i do like awesome sandwiches.
