Hi all.  I just went from Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 Pro 64bit.  I'm having a hard time picking which Adobe Reader to get, Flash Player, AIR and Shockwave Player to get.  Please give me the links.

....the latest ones?

Flash should already be built in to your browser; if it isn't, it will tell you where to go.

Also, is google not working or something? Or is http://adobe.com not reachable from where you live?

The Air and Adobe reader pages from The_E's link auto detect your system which should be correct.

as for Flash and Shock arnt they one system now? I know Chrome has them built in and I am sure the others do, or at least should.  if you need separate download then again The_E's link is the place to go

Well I was searching through MSN and I chose to use, "Adobe reader windows 7 64bit" and a search and so I got a huge list of the different kinds of adobe reader downloads.  So I thought 10.1.8 because that was what the tech who put my computer together used.  And when I tried to update that, it said that there were no updates.

BTW:  Have you been watching Unsere Mütter, Unsere Väter in Germany?  I was told that it will be aired, in the US on January 14, 2014.  It looks pretty good.  Tell what you think?

i always instal the latest firefox. i then get flash and java, their websites usually autodetect your browser and system and install the right thing for you. i always use foxit reader instead of acrobat, its updates are smaller and its generally less of a pita to work with (i know because i read a lot of datasheets).

I'm pretty sure that shockwave is dead (or rolled into flash as a separate file format) at this point.

As for getting Adobe Reader: Don't.  Instead, get any one of the free alternatives to it.  I use FoxIt, and it seems to work pretty well.

shockwave still exists separately, but hardly anything uses it.  i ran into something that required me to go install it within the past several months but i don't remember what.  you don't need to install it unless you hit something like that.

est1985, you didn't ask a dumb question. It's a lot like other questions i've heard from people before. You just don't want to screw anything up.

software comes screwed up, its the responsibility of the user to beat it into submission with a lead pipe until it works.

At least he didn't ask which link that he should click after performing a search on google.
