Won't mean much if the hard lines are still slow as crap.   Data has to get to the towers first

Our elders tell stories of a glorious civilization; of people with myths of humanity everlasting, who hurled themselves into the void of space with no fear.

"At 1Tbps, it would be theoretically possible to download a file 100 times the size of a feature film in about three seconds"

or 100 people to do a normal sized file, which is probably the likely use case.

I'm wondering what kind of bus they used for their prototype board, since I have no idea what can have that kind of bandwidth.

I wonder if the the new FCC rules will have any effect on data caps/throttling.

Re: Researchers developing 5G crack 1Tbps
I've been using 4G LTE at home for quite a few years now. I've been happy with it and I won't go back to wired because all the wired options are much, much slower. The 4G I have has no throttling and no caps.

My current 4G:

Can't wait for 5G. :)

Kind of related, I don't understand my ISP. They offer "faster" fibre-op speeds at speeds offered by regular cable of other ISPs. So why bother installing fibre-op at all?

On topic, I sincerely hope this does improve wireless speeds. I find myself using data a lot more often than I would have thought.

Uptime, lag/ping, probably some data transfer stuff I don't adequately understand.

I fear that this works perfectly for the communication company's ****ty bandwidth caps in america :ick:
