you could attempt to explain the socio aspects of two races attempting coexist peacefully after 14 years of war and the effect it would have at least on the human psyche. I can actually see many people being like our not so friendly admiral to a certain degree. When we boil it down, he even said it's not a hatred of vasudans, but a love of humanity. Isn't that basis for every group of racists out there? of course they mask the whole thing in anger and hate. but i think that freespace made everybit as strong a statement about racism as the movie Pleasantville did.
The NTF was really nothing more than a sci fi KKK.
and really the freespace universe when seen through those eyes isn't so much about war, as it is about change, and about how all of us are creatures of change by necessity, but we resist that change in the name of emotional and mental comfort. Personal security.
