I
think a squadron is 3 wings of 4 ships each, but I could easily be wrong. That's how it is in the X-Wing books, at least.
As for how many squadrons for the ships, an easier question to answer would be how many wings. Look
here for a list of all the known statistical data about capital ships in FS2.
