Introducing the GTF Vesuvius
The Vesuvius is the GTVAs' counterpart to the SCF Firehawk.  Designed as a replacement to the Myrmidon, the 'Ves' has improved speed, agility and firepower compared to both the aging Myrmidon and Hercules Mk.II classes, and has replaced them in the frontlines of the SCP conflict.  Vesuvius Squadrons are currently deployed in the Vega and Ikeya systems as part of the final assault against the Sons of Capella resistance group.

(Pretty heavy optimisation on these models, so the textures look a wee bit worse)

This is pretty much the final texture job, bar a few extra details, the model is ready for cobnversion.

The only real problem is that the re-arm point is on the LHS (missile pad), but it's space, so who cares

"Well I believe ther's someone watching over you.  They're watching every word you say. And when you die they'll take you down and take you through. You'll realise one day that the grass is always greener on the other side, the neighbours got a car that you wanna drive, and when time is running out you wanna stay alive.  There is no wrong, there is no right, and the circle only has one side...."

looks nice but I can't see it more agile than a myrmidon...

Nice fighter, and I love the name. The docking point on the missile area is fine, since the primary directive of the support ship is to rearm, so it would be easier access straight to the missile bay.

First test screens

Poly count is 546, which is a bit high, but otherwise ok.
(I think I need to add something to the textures, but I'm not sure what yet)

There's a wee bit of a problem with the guns I've attached onto it.... I've had to place them a short (tiny) distance away from the face before Union-ing them, so there's a tiny gap visible.... I need to try and fix this, or find a better way to connect them to the hull... if all else fails, I'll just glue them as sibling or something..

Ack... had 'er working fine (done) - then I realised I had a bit of debris mysteriously vanish in the conversion, so the game crashed when it blew up
