FRED2 crashes without an error message (Norton Crashguard warning)

Ships.tbl is 288kB, the pof file works fine ifI specify it for another tbl entry.

It must be something to do with this entry - it is the only thing I cna think of

Try to remove an entry and use the above one in place. But make sure that the numbers associated with the XSTR entries are the same as the ones of the entry you replace - just to be safe. I don't have a clue what those do, actually.

If that doesn't work, try working from a copied entry. Change things step-by-step until something doesn't work. Standard trouble-shooting procedure.

I've been experimenting - and it appears to be the unmber of contrail entries  

It works fine with 4 entries

Yep.. not tested in nebulas yet, but she works fine in a game...

  I think one of the Vasudan bombers has 6 trails.. not sure
