I have not started doing university applications much yet; at the moment I am trying to decide between UMCP and MIT but have not really come to a conclusion there. UMCP is close by so I can continue to live right here, still ranks among the top 10 or so, and most importantly, is much cheaper for Maryland state residents. MIT is generally regarded as being the best or second-best in math and physics, so a degree from there will mean a lot, but the $30k/year tuition fees are insane.
Of course, I will be doing both BA and Phd in pure math.

(probably a second one in philosophy as well, but that's a bit later)
as opposed to two full time guys for almost 200 hundred students
Looks like they need to hire more guys there... (which should be easy for them, considering how much money these universities take from us students

)
