For biology, i have what my teacher kindly calls "the year long project"

bassically its a no limits study of something of our choice as long as it follows a few guidelines, and so forth (i.e. i must answer 5 specific questions about my topic.) I'm going to need to start soon, at least know what i am going to do and right my proposal to him for the project in the next week or two.

So i was wondering if you had any ideas. bassically anytihng you can think of that is appropriate. More intresting things would be nice. Feedback is A-1 supar. oh yes one more thing, i need to have a "mentor" (an adult who knows what they are talking about on the subject i choose. ) so it needs to be realistic along that axis too.

Does it have to be related to biology? I had to do something like this in chemistry class but it was spread out over two years and could be related to any field of science.

biology yes, so having to realte to anything remotely biological, includes physchological i beleive.

Hmm... How's your access to magnetron capacitators out where you live? Need a license or a microwave serial number in your state? Can you afford a box of fifty?

Well, I could sorta be tied in with biology. More of an evil plot, but death rays are kinda a catch-all.

The effects of low-frequency electro-magnetic radiation on living tissue. Basically your end of year presentation thingy could be cooking the class a big-ass serloin steak. And also, you'd get to death-ray cats.

Yeah, just watch out for those metal desks. Those scorch marks may not LOOK too bad, but the whole feedback thing screws up a microwave array faster than anything else.

Also, electro-magnetic = EM induction = Big-ass electricity sparks when aimed at metal = Instant manslaughter charge. Although you could always turn it on the cops when they showed up to Rodney King yer ass.

Bleh. Electrical weapons are unreliable. I tried making a lightning generator a while ago- really inefficient and way too dangerous. You'll hurt yourself more than anyone else. AND they're useless near metal surfaces. Stick with the microwave array cannon.
