OK I have my first ship working in FS2.
It's a small (5m) Vasudan drone escort fighter. designed to be carried by freighters as a last line of defence. I will post it up for anyone interested once I have shield icons etc worked out.

Last line of defence did I say? 6 of them kicked my ***  in a myrmidon  
I think I need to play around with their table settings as they are just too damn hard to hit at the moment.

here it is. I know the model isn't up to much  but it does prove to me that I can get models to work. It has 4 LODs, Debris, a shield and thruster flames.
In the table file it has a top speed of 60
and a 2 second afterburner of 200. Thats what the orange markings are, a magnetic pulse overdrive. It would only work in a drone fighter as the Gs would kill any pilot.
it mounts 1 cannon and has 30 pts of armour and a 80 pt shield.

Um... the "g"s would only kill a pilot if his ship was accelerating at teh time.

60 to 200 in less than 2 seconds?
thats ACCELERATION. I set the acceleration damping to 0.2 so if I'm correct it's 60 to 200 in 0.2 seconds. 140 m/s in 1/5 of a second is 700 per second per second or in otherwords about 70 G.

G's are there because force still exists in space. Every action must have an equal or opposite reaction...

The only thing that G-force has to do with gravity is that one G is the same acceleration as that from earth's gravity.

Nice looking ship, wraith! I'd take off the shield completely-makes it a bit more fair, and you could easily say that such a ship is too small to mount a shield generator.

Did you get TS too so you could build the hierarchy?

I got a copy of TS2 on an old cover disk from PC plus.

I think I'll make the shield lighter. It regenerates slowly as the power output of the reactor (batteries probably) is so low. I don't want to remove it as I've already made it.

I run it as a coward AI as the hull is so fragile it needs to be a bit on the edgy side.
I'm going to table a micro flux cannon for it as I have a light flux cannon for V fighters.

Open up ai.tbl and look at the stats for the AI.
