Thats not funny. Its very disturbing, he might have had a drug overdose or something similar. It is a very sad death, the man died without love.

What the hell is wrong with you.

Touchy, ain't we?

Particularly considering that there's no mention, or even evidence, of any of that in there.

Don't know about the BEST death. I still think that's gotta be by sexual exhaustion in the Playboy Playhouse.

Well, possibly. I don't know that I'd wanna share women with a senior citizen Hefner either... But you get the idea.

You sure weren't aiming for sensitivity or expressing sadness for the death of the poor bastard. Or has the word "best" been redefined in English again?

"Poor"?

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time finding sympathy for someone who played games to death. I mean, really- how ridiculously compulsive can you get? Saying we should feel sorry for him is like saying we have to feel sorry for any old asshole who decides to see what swallowing an entire gallon of lead-based paint is like. He's a moron at best, it's his own damn fault, and the world is not a lesser place without him (though possibly a less strange place, which may be a loss).

There's only a certain degree of compassion for my fellow freak I can keep up, and I have no interest in pretending to any more for those so clearly undeserving of any, like certain individuals here apparently do. I bet you cried all through the Monty Python movies too, eh?

In this we are in total agreement.
That, however, is not the point of my post. I was not responding to the manner of the man's death, nor the circumstances of his life. I was responding to the question, "When did I ever say it was funny?". No more, no less.

SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

The article I read in the Sydney Herald didn't specify the game he was playing. Given that we're talking about S. Korea, it was likely Lineage. Last year there was a case where one kid screwed over another player in the game. The 'victim' tracked down the the con that got him and beat him to death in real life.

I don't understand the whole MMORPG addiction thing. I didn't understand it back when we called them MUDs and they didn't have fancy graphics.

I have no pity for sad (most likely girlfriend-less) bastards who are that addicted to a formulation of pixels on their screen, How ****ing hard can it be to lay back for 30 minutes and rest? to eat? to go screw your girlfriend?

These bastards 'deserved' the death they took...

But then there are those sympathetic frick-parents who decide to go sue game companies claiming that games are addictive...  is complete moronity a genetic trait?

for this time, AND this time only, I full-heartedly agree with you. If you jump off a cliff, and hope you can fly like Superman, then your death is your OWN GODDAMN FAULT.
