Err.. was he not? Ah, no, you're right - he was born in... erm... South Africa, right? Somewhere in Africa, methinks. Anycase, he lived most his whole life in England, and he did serve in the RAF, so do the maths...

Besides, this is a thread about Britons, you know - England may be the most important part, but we mustn't forget the ethnic minorities *nods at Aldo*

[EDIT] Just thought - Spike Milligan has to go on the list, as does Roald Dahl.

It's a fact.  Stupid people have stupid children.  If you are stupid, don't have sex.  If you insist on having sex.  Have sex with animals.  If you have sex with an animal.  Make sure the animal is smarter than you are.  Just encase of some biological fluke you and the animal have offspring, they won't be as stupid as you are.   One more thing.  Don't assume the animal is protected.  If the animal has a condom, or if female some interuterian device, insist they wear it.  Help stop this mindless mindlessness.  Keep your stupidty to yourself.  This message was brought to you by the Committee of Concerned Citizens that are Smarter than You are.

I dunno, Newton also gave us Fluxions and persisted in believing in the aether when there was evidence against it. Besides, any props the guy gets have to be balanced with his poor treatment of Leibnitz.

Yeah, I think in terms of just math and philosophy Leibniz was certainly superior. What makes Newton so great though is that he did absolutely fundamental work in two areas (math and physics) with the co-discovery of calculus and the development of most of classical mechanics and optics. Although the fluxion was just an old term for the derivative and just about all the scientists believed in the æther until the late 19th century. :D

The Spice Girls were just damn painful, and there were a ****load of them. With stupid names assigned in order to give them some semblance of a "personality".

I'm kinda iffy on the Beatles, too, but most people seem to think they're some kind of gift from a bountiful God to pop music, and will attack you with anything sharp in the vicinity if you disagree, so I'll bow to popular opinion. If only because I can think of several sharp things in view right now.

Anyway. It's not just the Spice Girls' fault- Radiohead is ten billion times worse, but I assume they're American in extraction, and I just can't say anything bad about the music of a country that invented the atomic bomb.

Lemme put it this way.

Number of albums by US groups I have - 1 (BRMC).  Number of UK group albums - about 65.

And I buy a LOT of albums.

Of the list its has to be either Newton or Darwin, maybe that's because I'm a scienist by trade. It should definately NOT be the late Princess of Wales. To be quite frank she shouldn't even be one of the top 10.

Well... not really, since Creationists just pretend evolution doesn't exist, thus negating the scientist's clever arguments entirely.

Not that I'm aiming to turn this one into another Science vs Religion job... *hides*

Note - Macedonia scored past Seaman straight from a corner in the last round of Euro 2004 qualifiers.  Into the exact same spot as Ronaldinho  :D
