Other than that, I dunno. I think, considering you also brought about the Spice Girls, that you might be only slightly over breaking even on the fame/ignominy scale. A repeat and you'll be down there with Germany.

Newton was THE MAN, possibly the single greatest person humanity has ever produced. :D Churchill and Darwin were admirable guys as well; don't know much about the rest.

I dunno, Newton also gave us Fluxions and persisted in believing in the aether when there was evidence against it. Besides, any props the guy gets have to be balanced with his poor treatment of Leibnitz.

There's piss-poor, and then there's unconscionable. At least you can laugh at the parallels between the Backstreet Boys and Village People, and look at Christina Aguilera's breasts. The Spice Girls were just damn painful, and there were a ****load of them. With stupid names assigned in order to give them some semblance of a "personality".

I'm kinda iffy on the Beatles, too, but most people seem to think they're some kind of gift from a bountiful God to pop music, and will attack you with anything sharp in the vicinity if you disagree, so I'll bow to popular opinion. If only because I can think of several sharp things in view right now.

Anyway. It's not just the Spice Girls' fault- Radiohead is ten billion times worse, but I assume they're American in extraction, and I just can't say anything bad about the music of a country that invented the atomic bomb.
