Minimod database catagories...
Ok, this is simple. These are the catagories that the various mods will be displayed under in the minimod database. Suggest ones that would even remotely be possible, atm I have:
ship
desktop modification
reskin

and I know there are more...so...POST!!

Minimod database catagories...
Weapon
Background
Nebula
Music Track
CB Animation/Cutscene
Sound/Visual effect
Interface art

And you could have a misc. category too. If you notice 4 or 5 of a certain type of mod in the Misc category, make it its own section.

No problem... actually all I did was open the FS2 data directory and look at what the folders were, and thus what can be modded. :)

You could have just taken the categories from the VWatch Archives. But 'tis a great idea, I will be able to have all sorts of different versions of ships tbl all over my HD again! YAY!

Let's make sure ship table entries for the mods only have the ONE ship entry and it only uses the default FS2 weapons. Example: the Archangel's submission will need to arm a BFGreen on its front and replace all the other weapons with default FS2 equivalents.

The Archangel was a complete ship though, distributed with both ships.tbl and weapons.tbl additions included.  Making all ships reverse compatable with FS2 is a good point, but only if the weapon mod isn't in the readme along with the ships.tbl addition.  If the weapon mod is included then there is little reason to force backwards compatability, it's just more work for less gain.
who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here
