Isn't there a huge transport/frieghter in the beginning of Empire when the rebels evacuate the base you see them leaving? Leia says "get to your transports" but they could be used as frieghters too right?

That would be the Medium Transports.. built by Gallofree Yards i beleive. You also have the YT line of ships and the Buk-Transtport (Mosts famously, Talon Karde's Wild Karde ) among many others.

Theres also the........ (looks in info book) Scimitar Assault Bomber, nasty too bace on the TIE Bomber, and TIE A.V.D. big good payload not bad shielding but is not ass good as a X-wing more like a A-wing.

Back to thread do you have debrie (sp?) for  the models? It's justy it would look great to see a 'wing' fly of TIE when you destroy it.

Um..I think you're talking about the TIE Advanced...and it can fly circles around an X-wing, with the same firepower.  Pick up X-Wing: Alliance and see what I mean, the thing bests any Rebel fighter.

Nope it's in the book I got the Scimitar bomber not used too much and used at the end of the DE comics line but not seen as it was too expencive to pout into mass production

How would the Alliance find enough Jedi to Crew a full destroyer? Plus I'd say the Ep2 Jedi Starfighters would all have been destroyed during Palpatines pogrom. Buuuuut - that doesn't mean we won't be making the Jedi Starfighter, along with most of the prequel ships - It's just a matter of waiting, as we have a lot of work to do on the Original Trilogy Ships first.

Indeed, but the TIE Defender slaughters every other fighter in the Star Wars galaxy!

And the X-Wing is VASTLY over-rated.

yes, well tie defender is really excessive
really cool, eh, but too unbalanced with the other ships
its far the fastes ship (a lot more than the others), it is manuevrable, can't remember about missles loadout but has 6 cannons (only the bwing has so many cannons...), beams and the shields of an heavy fighter (although light armor)..
it is not a fighter it is a monster;)

IIRC it carried 8 Protons or 16 Concussions in XWA.

It was hella fun to fly.

How is the  X - Wing overrated? I always thought it was underrated.

It's slow and handles like a dump truck.  It doesn't have the shielding to counteract its utter slowness.  It can dogfight and bomb, but it ends up being a jack of all trades, master of none.  TIEs and A-wings are better fighters, GUNs and B-wings are better bombers.  So it pretty much sucks at everything.

its not that bad, and it depends on how you handle it. Also what you play it in. Its space supierority, so a cros between The MYr and the Herc II. True the Awing was better in most games (why would the awing have larger missle banks?) but the awing (save the original X Wing) is also weaker.

It then books/movies, the X isn't that bad of a ship. They seem to use it in NJO. And it killed the Death Star


Now if you want a real fighter, try the Z 95 Headhunter. awesome ship

The X-Wing killed the Death Star because it, and the Nerf-wings (Y-Wings) were the only ships stationed at Yavin. The B-Wing hadn't been developed, and there weren't that many A-Wings in existence.

And yes, the X-Wing is slow, handles like a wet sponge and when faced with overwhelming odds dies far too quickly.

Now, the A-Wing on the other hand............
