Yes, enlighten us with the HOL (no pun intended). :) I gave the answer to my own GTD Legion question.

Here's an additional question: Name all the squadrons (numbers plus names, if named) that you fly in in FS2, in order, without looking them up if possible. :)

We vanquished the Shivans in the Great War but the hard questions still remain. How would confront the threat of future invasion? How would we fight for the very existence of our species?

In 2345, on the tenth anniversary of the Shivan attack on Ross 128, the Vasudan Emperor, Khonsu II addressed the newly formed GTVA General Assembly. The Emperor initiated a bold and unprecedented joint endeavour - the GTVA Colussus.

*Vasudan* Together we've built a civilization on the ruins of the Great War and now we stand on the threshold of a new era of harmony and prosperity. With Project Colossus the Vasudan people celebrate a new period of co-operation and mutual defense with our Terran Allies.

The Colossus is the most powerful space-faring warship ever constructed. Spanning six kilometres from bow to stern, the Colossus has taken over twenty years to complete. Twelve Lucifer-class Destroyers can fit within its massive hull. Its state of the art weaponry includes: Forty-five laser turrets, fifteen flak guns, twelve missile batteries, and twelve beam cannons. The Colossus wields more firepower than five Orion-class destroyers combined. Sixty fighter and bomber wings are housed within its vast hangar, and the crew numbers nearly 30,000. Amongst its major contractors are industy giants Triton Dynamics, Subach Innes and the Akheton Corporation.

Currently the Alliance faces threats on multiple fronts in Deneb, Alpha Centauri, Epsilon Pegasi and the mysterious nebula beyond Gamma Draconis. Once deployed the Colossus will end these conflicts swiftly and decisively. If ever the Shivans return to threaten our worlds we will be ready to face the challenge securing peace for today, and for generations to come."

Uh........I'm probably going to get this wrong but:

- 107th Hammerheads
- 242nd Suicide Kings
- Something here (NTF squadron)
- something else here (TacEval squadron)
- and here (Vasudan Squadrons)
- 99th Skulls (techinically for the second loop as it's SOC's own squadron)
- 170th Blue Lions

Q: (WARNING: FOR TOTAL GEEKS ONLY!!) Tell, as best as you can, the story of the ancients as told by them in the FS1 cutscenes without looking them up.:lol::lol: Gawd I'm evil! :D

Harr!

Oh, and it's the 185th Baracudas, the TacEval unit. And it's the 70th Blue Lions, not the 170th :)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Here's a nice question: What happened to Zeta Squadron in the Nebula?

Most of the time, Zeta wing gets killed defending the Trinity. I don't suppose you're thinking of Kappa, are you?

Q: List each medal in the order in which you get them (for those medals handed out twice, list each chance you have of getting them)

And if that's too easy for you, try telling us the requirment for each medal. Or try it for FS1 :D

I answered a question, and I have a right to pose one. The one who gets this right gets a cookie (and remember, this is from a COOKIE monster):p

Here is the answer to that HOL one: the HOL command post was located inside the ruins of a large temple-like structure on Altair V which is thought to have been constructed by the Ancients.

The loop1-2.fs2 mission, "Love the treason..." (the 99th pilots use it)

gimme a cookie... :D

[edit] oh wait, just thought of an earlier occurence. The Kayser has been around for a long time in testing and is even available in all of the Operation Templar missions.

Technically the loop1-2.fs2 is correct, because Templar is a MP campaign, and therefore doesn't count.

Ah, but even that wouldn't be accepted:

The HoL's base of operations in FS1 was Altair. (Check the PVF Thoth info if you dont believe me, its also where the PVD Anvil was destroyed.)

Is everyone stumped as to my question? Here it is again:

1) What jump node is (indirectly) mentioned numerous times in the first 10 missions of FS1, but never shown on any incarnation of the nodemap?

I dunno. The Vega\Antares node? the vega\deneb node?

I give up.

I dunno too, the Ross 128 - Shivan Space node?

the only one that was remotely close was R128-Shivan, but that isn't mentioned in the first 10 missions of FS1. (good try tho.)

All the rest of them are on the nodemap, except Vega-Antares, which never existed. (The one where the Lucifer skipped over the blockade was Ribos-Vega, but that doesn't count because only Shivans could use it.)

Here's a clue, since you all seem to be stumped.

"The Antares-Beta Cygni jump node lies in the center of a dense asteroid field, making it one of the least-used jump nodes in the galaxy. Standard procedure would have us circumvent this node completely, requiring two jumps. Now we have no choice."

(And no, the answer is not the Antares-BC node.)

The only other node to Beta Cygni is from Betelgeuse. And Betelgeuse can only be accessed by Beta Cygni. The only node to Beta Cygni is from Antares. Though maybe it is from Ribos.

EDIT: I wasn't paying attention to the fs1 part.

All right, we're too hung up on this one.  Let's start adding new questions until Mad Bomber gives us the answer. :)

What's the name of the cruiser that's on the comm officer's screen in the FS1 intro?

In the FS2 intro, after the Medusa gets blown up by a missle, the camera shifts and you can see several Shivan fighters zip by at a high rate of speed.  What class are they? :D

Post the entire coded transmission sent by Lt. Cmdr. Snipes in the second SOC loop.  Bonus points if you name the codec. :)

Name the three systems seized by the NTF, and the three systems contested at the start of FS2.  Also name the three systems accessible from Capella.

What is the name of the Shivan wing (not Arjuna) that spots you as you head toward the Lucifer's docking bay in Playing Judas?

What's the name of the cruiser that's supposed to help you protect the Bastion in Clash of the Titans but never shows up? (kind of a trick question)

That ought to jump start things. :D

I think I can answer some of those:

Granite Mountain, this is Black Dove requesting immediate extraction. Engines and jump drives are inoperative. Location Delta 429 by 372. Deployed Pharos beacons to assist search. Heavy Shivan presence. Severe nebula storms. Probability of survival not good...

Codec: JLS 5.97

(I memorized this one completely, and I gave the codec as a question before myself, I gotta know that :D)

NTF systems: Polaris, Regulus, Sirius
Conflicted systems: Alpha Centauri, Deneb, Epsilon Pegasi
Capella nodes: Epsilon Pegasi, Gamma Draconis, Vega
