ack bad lighting and from what i can see, it looks a little cartoonish.

Try making the edges sharper or something.

don't post it in the art forum if you don't want people who have no idea how to even do anytihng half as good to come in and tell you it needs work. That is what an art forum is all about.

how bout lighting up the impulse engines for starters. :nod:

umm they are lit up..... trust me when i first got the model nothing glowed had to find colours and mess arround with them for hours to get stuff to glow the way i wanted them to....

they look a very dark dull red to me, where as in the tv and movies the impulse engines when active, are bright red.

Dude .... I think even if the guys doing animations for FS2 itself posted images here they'd still have ppl giving them pointers and ideas. A word of advice if you'regoing to act negative to any critics in here .... before long you'll just have noone looking at your pics at all.

Just take comments lightly and understand noone's slamming your work...just giving tips and suggestions to improve them.

use raytraced shadows instead of shadow maps.

also with the lighting...add another spotlight somewhere above the ship but out of the camera's field of view, just to light it a little bit more.

i have a newer monitor (or its just a better monitor) the picture is perfect on my screen and ot dosent burn out the screen if you acidentaly leave your moni on ..... and PS there IS a spotlight ontop of the ship to light it up a bit more i think its nicely lit up :)

the spotlight isnt bright enough - trust me.
