Can the size of the ship.tbl file be expanded?
I'm wondering if the number of ships on the ships.tbl file can be expanded past 380kb. I have a lot of new ships planned for my campaign and if I can fit more new ships, that would really be great.

And I know, I should have done a search on this, but I'm pressed for time and I thought someone could just point me in the right direction of the corect thread if this question has been asked before. :)

KT, stay on top of this. I don't know CRAP about programming the source code and DON'T have the time to learn it all, but if we can use it in DatDB, I want you to monitor this. ANYTHING the Source code project can do to assist us should be made aware to the entire staff.

I'll post more on this on our forum soon. I'll try to let Lonestar in on this too. Maybe he can help.

but remember, you can max have 130 ships in the ships.tbl, that includes all jump nodes and nav boys and whatever you have in there.

this has been reset to 130 due to some troubles with multiplayer, which will maybe be solved in the next release.

Clean up the table files.  That will add an extra 100 ships or more to the table.  The ship numbers isn't limited I think its just the size of the file.

What would really be nice is to increase the number of ships you can add before fred starts going screwy (ships at the bottom of the list crashing fred, the player-delay thing, disablement of special explosion, etc)
