I need two stations for my campaign.  One needs to be a military type and the other a civillian station.

Both need to be bigger than the Arcadia (the military station preferrably similar in size to the Colossus).

Can somone help me out please or point me in the right direction to where I could find one.

A station the size of the colossus?:wtf:

Anyway, someone once made an installation built into an asteroid, there was a terran and a vasudan one. I think they were called the scylla and the cheops, though I am not sure. They always look very civilian to me, a bitr like a house with a front porch.

If anyone's go the Dunbar station I did awhile back you're welcome to use it Wildfire. Sadly when my Hd's went to hell I lost all my old GotP MOD files :|

It certainly makes more sense than a SHIP the size of the Collossus.

Theres that weaponless GTI Atlantis... ~600-700km long IIRC. It orbits earth, but id think it would throw off the gravitational pull of the moon at least. And rise the currents of the earth to deadly altitudes

Why would it have gravity? It isn't rotating.

Gravity is an effect that comes from Mass, not spin. 700km of ship steel is going to have discernable gravity. That's larger than some natural moons in our solar system.

The Atlantis is less than 60km, not 600

I was using Vadar's quote. Still 60km is large enough to have a discernible gravitational effect on local bodies.

When thinking of stations, enough consideration to volume cannot be given. In theory, you can pack the entirety of the world's population into a cube 1.5 miles on a side. I doubt that would be coomfortable, though. Take that up to 5mi on a side, and you've got a HUGE amount of volume with which to work.

You want a huge Vasudan station? The PVI Karnak is pretty big. Get it from the Port.

whoops, added an extra 0 to the fred scale... o well

how big was the death star? it musta had a gravitational impact on Alderaan (sp?)... that is, until the DS proceeded to blow it up.

btw... Hades... *smack*

The cause of gravity is mass
The cause of an electrical field is a charge
the cause of a magnetic field is a moving charge

that better be right because i just had a magnetism quiz on this crap. (and the 4 hand rules... 4th involving your fist pointing to the direction of the teacher, and middle finger pointing up towards the ceiling, where F represents the Finger and U represents the direction (up). )

Brilliant.  I don't need it yet but I will later.  Just saved me some time.

The Arcadia installtions are far too small and weak to serve as a proper command base.  They look fine as factories and trading stations but that's about it.

I still need the military station.  It would help if it was "similar" to the arcadia but much larger and togher looking.

I once saw a render I think it was of the Arcadia Mk II (maybe it was called something else). It was silver and grey kind of colours. Dunno if that might be any use.

For another vasudan station, there's also the GVI Cairo. It's a single piece mod, so it's easier to deal with than the three piece Karnak. It's slightly smaller than the Arcadia, but is much easier to use and much better looking than the Karnak, IMHO.

To say nothing of the fact that the Cairo is armed with anti-cap beams, too... :D

Yeah, the Cairo rocks, but then so does my modified Arcadia. It has AAAf and flak all over it, plus three MGreen!

I can modify an arcadia to give it whatever weapons I need easily.  I'm looking for a military base that cries out HQ!

That's one reason why I'm hoping to find one as big as the colossus.  It also means I can hopefully have several of the larger cap ships docked to it making it look like a proper Command base.

VRML

Most software supports it, i did think about saving it as a blender file but not everyone uses blender and the dxf export on the latest version of blender is somewhat dodgy.

Your geometry is all screwy there, Miggy. It could be the VRML exporter, it could be 3dExploration being a *****. Either way, the result (both in preview and in an exported LWO) is a lot of misaligned polygons that need to be flipped.
