i am endevouring to make a ship larger than the Sathanas. the exact size of the ship is 8km long by 6km wide

with 110 weapon turrets the body of the ship is coming together but the turrets and texturing habe yet to be done...

would like some opinions

the Largest one is 36km and the FS2 turret limit is 89 i thought would be usefull

Whatch your typing,you can say some bad things about other people's stuff and i think not of them would apriciate that..And that 36km ship is the SH Gargant from the Inferno campaign...so watch it.

it's more a scenary than a ship actually. it's big for display, not for balance.

They did a very large 'ship' over at TBP (The Babylon Project) that was used for planets, it was a textured plane that was over 200km in width. It was used for a planet (Earth to be exact). They posted some screenies, and it gives you a feeling of vertigo just looking at it!

120km long? The guys at the babylon project couldn't get the vorlon planetkiller to work well, and i think it's only 50km

The simpler the model, the more likely it is to work at large sizes. The VPK is a rather complex model, and gets bad clipping errors at over 50 km.

An ordinary sphere can be made hundreds of clicks in diameter. I made a simple Death Star once, 160 km. Worked fine.

The biggest ship in TFoN is only about 8 km long, and even that's a station. The biggest real ship is (30 after Capella) still the Hecate. Or if I make a decent destroyer model...
