Considering the amount of difficulty there's been with using CVS, perhaps a Perl script could be added to the FSSCP site that would compress the current source into a zip. To reduce server load, the zip could be saved on the server and updated only when it was two hours old (ie the script checks the creation date of the file; if it's more than two hours old, it makes a new zip; if it's less, it uses the zip).

I haven't worked with CGI/Perl enough to know whether it has any zipping functions, or if they're dependant on the server's configuration...anyone know?
