). recoil is to decrease the efforts due to powder ignition, so there's no explosion or anything when an enrgy weapon shoots methink, so there should ve no recoil.

If you want to be technical, Venom, your monitor does have a continuous rearward force acting upon it as a result of the expulsion of photons from the screen. The area of effect and emission density is, however, too low to overcome the inertia of the monitor, and thus it stays in place. Ramp up the emission density and lower the area of effect, and a noticible thrust can be generated. This is the basis for all particle emission propulsion systems (releasing jets of charged particles rather than combustion exhuast).
