Heh ... yea i had the New York, John Glen and Yam two for a bit now :) But I can't get a good means of converting Lightwave scenes into max usable ones :|

But from the images i've seen.... those models with the cell shader plugin ... look exactly like the old show :D

very nice, but the yamato can't compare to the arcadia :D

Holy Crap the site was updated!
I found this site like 3 months ago and the last update was, well earlier.. Glad to see he got the New York done. I'm gonna ask him if he can make some models for a SBmod

[Edit] I got all the first season so I can do voice captures... Now to find the Comet Empire and Bolar Wars!
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

I tried that years ago ,... never got anywhere....each modeler I'd contacted that did any SB ships was just like "it's impossible to make them that low poly"

well, with the fs source out  and all, i'm sure the engine could be tweaked to support enough polys to do the models justice.. although the current engine can do it just as well. we all would wan it to look as good as possible.

it's a real shame that i never really got to see SB that much as my american counterparts (see "location" under my nick) what i did see i liked..

i would be nice to see an "uncut" version  too as US censors were rather twitchy at that time..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
do not torment the sleep deprived artist, he may be vicious when cornered,
in case of emergency, administer caffeine to the artist,
he will become docile after that,
and less likely to stab you in the eye with a mechanical pencil
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You're closer to Japan and china.. Couldn't  you get it off of Ebay or other auction sites? Or direct from their marketers (or do they consider you as bad as the "westerners" and don't wanna give up the good stuff!

Yamato pic for those who haven't seen it yet.

well, you sure are closer to japan than I am ( since you can't be farther to Japan than I am :( ). search for battle ship Yamato, not starblazer, if you want to see the full, uncut version ( pb is japanese Z2 DVD don't always have subs).
Anyway, I recomand Harlock, it's best :P
Btw, for those who know/like Harlock, there's a new series planed ( not cosmowarrior zero, a newer one ). There also will be a live movie ( hargh!!!! ) made by a french ( haaaaaaaaargh! french are just no good for sci-fi - see 5th element- ), the one that made a movie called "le petit poucet" (and that one's the worst... ). Matsumoto will supervise it ( so there's still hope tho ).

oh, while I'm talking about live movies, there's rumours of an US akira movie ( great, wanna see Tetsuo called John  ) and evangelion, by James Cameron ( great, gonna see an eva handled by Di Caprio  )
What a wonderful world.

DiCapprio and Cameron can't make Evangelion any worse, nor can a live action Akira be any worse than the animated version. ;)

On the other hand, The Fifth Element rocked, so Venom, I declare you to be smoking the crack.

Any proof that they're going to be renaming characters or are you just blowing smoke out your ass? :p

And Fifth Element was a riot, thankyouverymuch.

Oh,  Mikhael, you're not a reference to me when it comes to animes, so I'll just ignore you and go back and watch Noir :p

and the 5th element was dull, with the crappiest ending ever. hmm, tho there were no ewoks at the end.

Venom: making friends is eaaaaaaaaaaasy!

wel on the subject of "live action" anime, have a hunt around for a couple of movies both titled "fist of the north star" (you may have heard of it) one was anime, the other live action, both are crap, but you pick out which is worse...

oh, and vemom, saw the pic.. where's the wave motion?

the local distributors for anime are Madman entertainment

they're actually quite good..

where my liking of anime came from where most peoples came i think..

this:

although i could be wrong.

if you'd made that model.. it's missing a particularly large indentation in the bow of the ship.

.

See?
here's an image of the original "yamato"

note: in WW2 she wasn't as effective as the iowa class although she was bigger
