The beginnings of a Hovertank model...
I just finished getting my machine back running, and I had to do something at least moderately intensive to see if the new HD doesn't flop like it did before, so I decided to work a bit on MAX. These are the results so far - it's far from finished, it's obvious, but you can get an idea.

And here I decided to play with one of Venom's favorite tools on MAX, the MeshSmooth modifier:

So, what do ya'll think? :D

Well, the turret and gun looks really small compared to the hull, and meshmoothed it looks fugly, but other than that, not bad.

Meh, I always seem to make the turrets too small on my tanks. Should be a little better now. :p

Much better.

Actually, that turret looks similar to the one on the tank I've been desining.

Try to do the hover tank from Robotech. Then the mod team can make it transform l8tr!

I like the first one better but the second one is nice too.
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

Cool, but the tank seems a bit small when compared to the guys around it... Other than that, it's a very nice design. :)

I guess it's just a very dense tank. :D

Needs to be about 25-50% bigger, assuming it's a relatively normal 2-4 man tank.

Nice design, resembles the Hammer's Slammers tanks somehow. The hull at least. It just seems that the smaller turret on the top is a bit too tall, and there are a lot of vertical surfaces...

The vertical surfaces are a perspective illusion.  The sides are canted at close to 40' from vertical, more or less.

And the top turret is a point defense turret, not your typical MG.

dunno exactly. it got ingame once ( in redalert ), it was a bit bigger than your average mammoth tank, so I guess it's pretty huge. one of the many models I did with the good old 3ds3 ( models that look quite ugly now that I think about it... )

btw, Shrike, your tank reminds me a lot from another tank i've seen in some game, but I couldn't tell what game it was to save my life... but it's almost exactly the same tank... bah, can't remember, never mind.
