anywho, I know maxis officially said the Sims would not run on WinXP, but i heard it was possible anyways. I tried the compatability option, ran it under Windows 98/WinME, no avail. The problem is, on attempting to run the program... it simply crashes again (standard windows xp "we encountered a problem with your program because we are bad programmers" screen). I tried all the command line parameters and it still wont work. It does work on my Windows 98 machine... but i hate using that thing.

Try the NT 4.0 option.. that usually runs most things...

 
thats tru i got some programs that wont work under XP. one for example was a .exe but a 5 minute movie. tell me why under xp it encounters a problem and wont run, but let it be on another xp system i runs... damn microsoft...
