Anyone remember the Vet-n00b flame war?  Thoes were the days weren't they...  Anyway, I like to see how many how many flame war vets we have floating arround.  Anyone who remembers, please post with you side and judgement of how important you think you were to your side.  Thanx.

Are you some war hating nazi?  Good God those things happened so long ago... I highly doubt it.  Take Kazan's advice.

I wasn't on anybody's side during the flame war. In fact, I despised the whole thing. I put off reading the VBB for a period of time because I was pretty sure it would be a disappointing letdown.

You know what? About five months, 30,000 locked threads, and  millions of caps locked filled posts with mad smilieys later, it turns out that I was right.

Everyone posting these things 24/7 did bring the sense of community and interaction on those forums to a new level, and you all squandered the opportunity resulting in the closure of the VBB. And now you saying that it was 'Good Days'?

For shame.
I finally destoryed the Shivan armada and all I got was this lousy T shirt.

Of course when I refer to good old days, that was when there was substance on the VBB.  I left it mostly when that **** happened and focused on WS.

Actually they didn't flame noobs because stupid threads or questions, but because they were noobs. Like I knew FS and FRED and the whole crap inside out but those suckas still burned me. And flaming is very childish anyway...

The whole thing about flaming noobs was pointless and incredibly boring....

Now disputes with TCA, that was interesting to observe (not participate in lol).

Indeed, this whole issue of flaming n00bs is silly. God forbid a community would expand, eh?

All I remember is goodness, then fighting with people like Hairy, then being a dick. Having a few people see subtle points in my posts when I really was just being a dick. People flaming me. Me posting stupid replies. And me being banned under about 5 different nicks.

God, it was fun.

Yes, those squadwar flames were very, very good, both exciting and entertaining. Especially when the strife spilled out of the game and everything started blaming each other for hacking and such; it made my day every day for years. :D

And then of course there was the good old HFB... :D (anyone find out who that really was? gkar, rjm or someone like that?)

I hate all this vets/newbies stuff, in all honesty.  It's not like a big post count, or an old reg date demands respect, is it?
