Was standardizing the scale on my ships, and decided that while I was wasting my time I might as well do this.



It got a bit cropped, 'cos I figured it was a better option than not seeing any of the smaller units or making this computer-lockingly big. But you get the idea.

The battlecruiser's not more than a set of five plasma cannons the size of oil tankers and a pair of big honkin' reactors half a kilometer across themselves. About ten people to keep each reactor running, twenty others to get the ship moving. The Coalition's big on supercomputers, and even if they weren't, the Battlecruiser generally doesn't spend more than a couple hours out of drydock anyway- its job is to jump in, blow hell out of the biggest thing around in one shot, and go straight home. The Kami's more of a full battleship.

Thanks. I do too. Battlecruiser's coming along nicely, though. Some day I'll post full shots of it.

The Kami kinda annoys me, 'cos it takes about 15 minutes to load and isn't even half as detailed as I wanna get it, and about the same as some models I have that load right away. I blame using a particle engine for greebling, but I dunno... The thing is, the Tok was long, thin, and relatively straignt- perfect for lots of repetition. I don't think a single detail on there wasn't used at least three times, except for maybe the pipes. I haven't made a model so handy for array greebling since.

You mean the texes on the one in back, or everything else? Everything besides the Battlecruiser's all-procedural, which I prefer but generally looks blander...

Both. I do have a soft-spot for procedurals - it's the principle of generating your own textures which appeals to me - and so I can handle the blandness as a necessary cost. It's all good.
