What about the Tornado? ok it's showing it's age but there is something about it's lines that just say 'powerhouse'

unlike an a-10 which has lines that say 'outhouse'

I prefer the mig 24 to the tornado, in the same kind of design. the 24 is even more bulkier, but has better specs.

MiG-24? What's that? What's the NATO designation and what does it do? Or do you mean Su-24 Fencer? I thought the closest to 24 was the MiG-23 Flogger and the MiG-25 Foxbat.

In a pure looks contest, I like the '22, the X-29. In capabilities, I think that the F-16 is the best all-around fighter (in terms of maintainbility, cost, and performance) in the world. The F-22 is the best air superiority and the F-14 is the best interceptor with the MiG-31 close behind. Imagine putting AIM-54Cs on F-22 (true, it'll probably spoil all stealth and handling and give it one hell of an extra weight, but...).

Just wondering, what is the effectiveness of the Phoenix? I highly doubt one AIM-54C could down a Backfire bomber or a AS-4 or AS-6. I thought like 3 were shot at each one.

As for fighter-bombers, how's the Su-27? I mean, what's point of having them on Kuznetsov if they can't do any ground damage? Probably the F-15E is the best fighter-bomber though. For pure bomber, of course, it's the B-2. The Tu-32 and the B-1B are pretty closely matched though.

Yeah, it did look a lot like the '23, except for the triangular wings. Those are some pretty wild colors Venom, but good job.

don't be ridiculous. How can you class planes like that? as an interceptor, what do you need? a plane that brings quickly lots of missile to range. Knowing that russian gots missiles as good as US ones, that the Mig31 flys at mach3 (f14 hardly mach2), and the 31 gots a better carrying capacity, the 31 is way better than the f14 for interception.

colours from the show. It's from macross actually, since robotech never featured more than the first macross saga in it's own plotline. Anyway this model was done for Max Sterling's Robotech mod

Actually, Russians have better cruise missiles in the speed and hard-to-intercept catagory. American Tomahawks and ALCMs have better accuracy, but are slow, and fly in a straight line (so do Russian cruise missiles, but they fly at Mach 2-3+, making them much harder to intercept and some are faster than the Phoenix itself [I think]).

Last time I checked, the Foxhound could carry 4 missiles (AA-9 Amos or AA-10 Alamo). The Tomcat could (theoretically) carry up to 6 Phoenix. In reality though, they'd have a very hard time taking off with that load, and would have a very short loiter time. So, the F-14 probably only carries 4 AIM-54s, which have a range of excess of 100km.

Who knows? Is it true that a Su-32 could outmaneuver a F-22? I heard somewhere that the Russians fighters are more geared toward close-in dogfighting than long/medium range missile shooting. A lot of people consider F-16 superior to the MiG-29, even though the Fulcrum could out-maneuver the Falcon anyday of the week.

Indeed the sukio's and migs are good in close combat they can easly out manouver the f-16 f-18 and i think maby the F-22 but whats the use of it if you get shotdown from 200km.They lack electronical systems.But the Helmet whit a tageting system in it for it's AA missiles is a rather nice system.

the f16 is better in close combat to the mig29 coz the 29 is heavier, and his engines are more powerful, so the f16 can take tigher turns. Anyway, on standard long range attack (not dogfight), they're as good.
the sukoi series based on the Fllanker structure are amazing. A su can fly super critic angles w/o vectoring thrusters. Imagine what it can do agaisnt even a f22. the f22 has a lower payload, or must sacrifice his stealh abilities and good maneuvrability if it takes missiles on wing pods. The su27 in dogfight is definitively better. Anyway, on long range fight, I think stealth tech (for now) prevails.

Well, the only models that really looks like the original is the fulcrum. Otherwise, i'm not sure about that YF24... You have real pics of it? Oh, and someone could post picsof the Su... the one that kindda look like the YF23. It looks awesome, but I don't remember it quite well, dunno what's up with this one, but it was on a good way to be the best fighter ever...

F-22 has gotta be my favourite of all time, but I do kinda take a liking to the Fulcrum. That is a great looking fighter.

Oh and of course, I'm partial to the American E-3 Sentry (is it made by Boeing?).
