Righteo, can anyone of you funky folks splain to me how the targeting laser works and why it seems limited for use only on the bat? I'm getting the vibe that it works in a similar fashion to the tag missiles but how come it wasn't included in the game.

I got some mad ideas to use it in some lan mini campagins... jes wanna get some info on it

There's a mod on the Vwatch archives that enables the Targeting laser. When you "paint" an enemy capship with it, a load oh Helioses jump out of subspace at it.
