Which one looks better? Just in case you people don't see it. #1 has fuel tank/missle pods under the wings.

they look different, but ... there's none better than the other one? if you want a long range recon/bombing 38, go for the 2° one obviously, if not, go for the first one, couldn't say anything else...

I don't know if you did or not, but if you used the GMax tut for these, then they wont work - intersecting polys.

Heck no! I only use Blender to make models and tS4 for booleans/textures.

intersecting polys works, just have graphical bugs where they intersect.

Oh now I get it. I have no idea which version it is. I got a couple pictures from a German magazine articel that I found online. I must be a civilian version. I didn't see anything about guns, though it was in German. Though this model is for FS (being how there are no propellers).

The reason.

'Cuz I think it looks cool. And because I got myself a MOD idea that'll use it.

Its not sufficiently modeled to tell the difference between the two.  There are slight variations between G and J and H variants (for the most part - other slight differences here and there).  The biggets is dive breaks on the later models but thats just not worth it to do for FS2  No compressibility in space.

P-38 Lightning is US built.  A long range fighter-bomber.  Has four .50 cals and 1 20mm cannon.  Very effective firepower because of the arrangement of the guns means that there is no convergance distance...and therefore better placement of bullets on target.

Quite a remarkable plane...if overshadowed only a tad by the P-47 and P-51.

Aye, Icefire is on target with that. Although other models ha dmore differences. Like radar vanes for night fighting or additional wing-mounted weaponry for anti-shipping.

I'm guessing the civie version you saw was actually a retired J. A lot of those were purchased by cropdusters after they were retired.

I say 2 becase you didn't do as good a job on the tanks as you did for the rest of the fighter (wich as far as I can see isn't too bad), they look like they were just slaped on, they don't even look like there the same subobject
