Bob. how to make own glow textures...
to some this might be a newbie question, but hell with it.

i remember u saying (bob), that to make ur textures glowable, just darken the rest of the texture and make the glowing parts, bright as heck. only thing is  how do i do this using PSP? i know adobe for example is similar so if its the same rules, how do i go about it? if i just simply add -glow behind a texture and play it, it will be bright as hell...

so list the process on how u do this d00d.

EDIT: i sorta found ur original posting on how to do the glow mapping, but im like illitirate to ur instructions... i mean im just bugged out.... i mean if u can simplify the instructions or show me using a terran teture i might learn how to do it right, cause right now its coming out "bogasi" (crappy in english).

I used an old old version of PSP, in many textures just hitting the contrast up a lot will work, others you use chanel spliting and some addition and subtraction to get a specific color

see i did the contrast thing then tried to mess with the multiply and add function and i just dont get how to use it, its comfusing and sadly one of the features i never familurized myself with in psp. i mean do u have like a step by step process, like write down everything u do click by click. turtorial-ish cause some of us are a lil bit feeble minded, and or worse.... tards... (hey knight lol)...

but basically i did the contrast aspect and the god damn teture was SUPER BRIGHT. it didnt glow it just, BRIGHT.

ima give also an example of a texture i want to illuminate... (the pic is already in PCX so if u wanted to make an eample out of it, u can).

http://www.metalsiren.com/xtlighter.pcx is the file u can DL if u wanna make an example.

the blue lights r to be luminated, break down the process, being as how anyone and everyone who wants to add the glows to there ships who dunno how to do it themselves might want to learn.

thanks...

brightness -10; contrast 25; use paintbrush to clean up the parts that arn't lights; and the flood fill with about 50 tolarence to make sure that most of the image is totaly black
