Me, I'm not interested until they score some good Velociraptor DNA. Or, at least, a saber-toothed tiger. What's the fun of another elephant, just with more hair?

Not a bad thing, could mean the restoration of a number of extinct species; probably the restoration of a good number of those we humans have destroyed.

And Rampage, why pray against it?  If God doesn't want it to happen, He won't let it; if the 'experiment' works, then it could only mean that it is the will of God to revive the species.  Have you anything against the species itself?  Because thats the only reason why I could see a need to pray against it. ;)

And then if elephants became extinct, nobody would care cuz they could see into the past and then maybe the mammoths would evolve back into elephants!

Now all we need is a mammoth tank. :D

Anyway, interesting news here; humans should come into the mix soon enough.

You know, I was recently playing the secret Dino missions in C&C, and these little buggers can get very annoying due to their speed... :p

I don't know, given a Velociraptor and an APC with a machine gun, I think I'd put my money on the APC.  Extinction by dinosaurs doesn't rank high on my list of concerns right now...

Raptors weren't as dangerous as Spielberg made out. What you saw on the screen were actually a lot closer to the Deinonychus - another Dromaeosaur, but bigger and faster. Velociraptors were actually quite a bit smaller (say, about the size of a big dog) and had different shaped skulls etc.

Cloning a mammoth I'm not sure about - it did die out a fair while ago, and I doubt it'd be adapted to the modern world. A thylacine though, now there's a worthy (and probablky not that far off) project.

You do realize all clones up to date have been "hicks". We're talking inbreeding to the extreme.

Not to mention ALL those cells will have lost a **** load of tellimeres.  Those babies tell a cell when they should die etc, the clock so to speak of a cell.  That thing won't live a long time.

hmm, nope the velociraptor is about that big ( look at the movies again, the raptors are smaller than people save for a couple exceptions ), but yeah, they were surely not that dangerous. The deinonychus was bigger, had that cool huge fang, and I doubt any of those were able to open a door :p
