here's a thought, nothing productive, but it would be kind of cool.  Have a ship warp in and set a special arrival music to play.  then, when you're done, press a button (SEXP activated) to have a new ship warp in to play a different tune.  only problem is, most of my best music files are MP3s.  is there any way to convert them into WAVs?

Only if you have a program that can convert them- and if you had one and knew enough to convert you'd realize it could do this. I don't see what the idea would accomplish, but yeah...

MP3 files are huge when turned into WAv, though.... I was going to use a couple of tracks off of a CD, until I realised that they would be 33MB!!!!!

Yeah, MP3/WAV ratio is about 1/10, so a 5 meg MP3 would be about 50 meg when converted to WAV.

Ive burned quite a few collection CD's off my MP3s, and I usually have to reserve the 650 MB for it on my HD

a 1/10 ratio!  Christ!  To heck with that, until I get my new comp up and running.  (comes today, I'm so happy!  60 gigs over the 4 gigs I have now!  )

4..gigs? How?

FS2 is 1 gig. I have nearly 2 gigs in my download folder alone. =_=

I have a 40 gig HD myself, and it's nigh full.

My render folder of two weeks age is some 3GB...

As for the music idea, what exactly is the point?
