Turnsky, what did you think of Unreal 2? I thought it was kind of ordinary, to be honest. Yeah, it's stupidly pretty, but the actual game was rather plain, I thought.
Not enough puzzles, and far too linear - you couldn't even go down the wrong corridor in any of the bases, because there weren't any wrong ways to go! Puzzles would have helped to break up the constant run-forwards-gawp-at-enemies-then shoot-them flow of the game. Nothing too SS2-esque (imagine trying to get through swarms of Drakk and Skaarj on the Rickenbacker:nervous: ), but some simple Half-Life style stuff would help.
I'm waiting for Doom 3 now - hopefully a lot harder and scarier!:nod:
System Shock kicks ass, though - it was the first PC game I ever got, and it's still one of the best!:yes:
