SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Don't stick your heads in the sand and pretend Bush is in there just to try and stop terrorism. If he really wantred to do that and nothing more, then ther'd be far mor useful places he could send his troops, Northern Ireland, Palestine (hell, and Israel too), Pakistan hunting for OBL, etc. etc.

Bush may be in it for the oil and whatnot, but I'm sure the troops are vying only for revenge.  Let them not be disappointed.

A-****ing-men. I know damned well the guys I served with aren't over there for Oil and could honestly give a **** about it. Some are over there for loved ones that they've lost.

*lowers head in silence for a moment*

Now please take the bull**** politics into the threads ABOUT that **** and leave this thread to it's purpose.

It's a good thing I just saw the Fellowship of the ring otherwise, I wouldn't get it. So I suppose Bush is the evil dark dope. How obvious.

what do all those numbers add up to? about 4500-5000?

that started counting from 1983. In 20 years, do you believe that US military campaigns have caused the deaths of more than 5000 people? Thats a retorical question.

I dont exactly see why 5k dead yanks is "oh my god, those poor people" but 500k dead iraquis (mostly civilians) is "huh? that happened? really? well they probably deserved it."

BTW i dont want this to turn into political debate, I just thought that that pic required this answer..

numbers dont lie, and you cant manipulate them into whatever you want .

Hmmm could be because those numbers are of ppl killed by terrorist acts. And if you read it carefully ... you'll notice they're not all "yanks".

You'll also notice Iraq is not really responsible for any of those.

He only wants to stop anti-American terrorism though; after all, he is president of the US, not that of the world. :p And as usual, it makes sense to start with the easiest guys first, so there we have Iraq. :D

From the US's point of view, that certainly makes sense; its only final purpose, as that of any other government, is to protect its own people.

Never said they were. It's a matter of "opposing terrorists and their supporters".

And its not like they're going to target the civilians when they start the invasion. "Oh look a school. Send a Maverick. Some are trying to run away, send in the marines." Thats what Terrorists did and do. They specifically targeted Civilians, except for the Cole. And I think targeting specifically civilans to take out your anger against someone is the lowest thing to do.

And ofcourse there is no solid proof that Iraq had anything to do with terrorists. But you can't deny what he's doing to his own people. Which is cause enough in my oppinion to have a regime change.
