Not really. He has a point. It's probably far from uproariously funny to, say, the people getting the crap bombed out of them in Baghdad, and after all, where do you draw the line? If I go on a rampage and start shooting people with a gas-powered sniper rifle and lauching maniacally whenever I make someone's head explode, are people just not getting the joke? Is it a case of just having a poor sense of humor if they want me to be arrested? How about if, say, France sends an anthrax-laden missile over to the city nearest you- hey, France jokes abound! You might not be in the mood for humor when you start bleeding from every available orfice, but you're just grouchy then, aintcha?
Humor involving death and destruction is not funny when it completely trivializes it, and emphatically not so when it's actually happening in the here and now.
