Finally got the F-56 skinned.  Not too happy with the way this one turned out, I was happier with the F-80.  Oh well, I'm really happy with the way the 'smooth' textures look tho.  Thanx to the guy who gave me that tip.

Haven't you learned yet?  In this conversion hitpoints and guns mean CRAP.  It's high maneuverability and engine performance you want for a REAL challenging foe.  Look at the F-44, it has the lowest[/b] hitpoints of any fighter in the game but it is the most powerful space superiority fighter available.  I personally think it even beats out the F-56 for pure Space superiority.  The Type-39 is a scary opponent also, 90(!)mps top speed WITHOUT afterburners.

The French won't be introduced until Episode 2 methinks (hell, I just got the demo for episode 1, act 1 finished.  Should be posted on my website NLT November 7).
